Where is Menahga?
Menahga is located directly between Duluth and Fargo in north central Minnesota.

Do I have to buy a whole pig?
No you do not. Pork is available by the single package, the sampler package (10#), quarter (26#), half (58#) or whole hog (115#).

I’ve never ordered directly from the farmer before. How much pork should I order?
I would recommend (since you’ve never done this before) that you start with a quarter hog, with the standard cuts. This will give you a chance to try a few different things. A quarter hog includes pork chops, roasts, rendered lard, bacon, ground pork. A quarter hog does not take up much space – it can easily fit in your standard refrigerator freezer (as long as it’s not stuffed to the gills with other things). I would guess that a quarter hog will last a 2-3 person household about 3 months, with bacon running out right away.

Do you butcher your own hogs?
No, we do not. We raise the animals and haul them into a state and federally (USDA) inspected locker plant for processing.

Do you deliver or ship pork?
Shipping by mail is ideal in the winter months, when our daytime temperatures are barely above zero. We ship by Priority Mail with 2nd day service, packing the pork in an insulated box with dry ice. Delivery is available in our local area, and also along Hwy 94 between Fargo and the Twin Cities. There is a small delivery charge.
